All participants will receive luxury busing from Loveland to appropriate starts and from finish back to busing location. Half marathon will bus finishers from finish area at Drake, Colorado to post event celebration in Loveland, Colorado.

10k 8:00am @ the turn to Carter Lake Sign/Country Road 29


All Finishers

All marathoners/half marathoners will receive a local custom unique finisher medal.  All finishers will receive entry into the finish line celebration sponsored by the Fountains of Loveland, Backbone Brewhouse/Restaurant and La Quinta Inn- featuring  music, food, Grimm beverages  and other festivities. The awesome local band, “The Commoners” will be playing live music.

Marathon Course:  Start 6:30 AM

Start at Estes Park Visitors Center , heading north, crossing Big Thompson Ave, right turn onto bike lane heading down HWY 34 westbound bike lane, left turn off HWY 34 through gate into the Fountains of Loveland and FINISH!!

Half Marathon Course: Start 7:00 AM

Will run 1st half of Marathon Course,starting at Estes Park Visitors Center and finishing in Drake. almost the entire town of Drake was destroyed by the 2013 flood.

10K  Start 8:00 AM-(due to road construction, the 10k will start near turn to Carter Lake Road, down CR 29 to HWY 34).

Course point to point. Maybe altered do to construction on the Big T canyon.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will be located at marathon miles 2.9, 5.7, 8.4, 11.0, 13.1 (Drake), 15.1, 17.8, 20.5, 23.0, FINISH!  Each station will have water ,Gatorade and port-o-potties. No gels or food at any aid in an effort to respect the natural beauty of the Big Thompson River Canyon. Please be as environmentally conscience as possible. Please try to discard trash and clothing at aid stations.


Parking for all events is at Keysight Technologies (former HP/Agilent) parking lot (SW 14th St/ Taft Road) . Spectator parking available across from finish at Group Publishing. Luxury buses and passenger vans will take participants from the designated event parking area to all starting areas.

Busing for marathon will start at 4:30am with last bus leaving NO later than 5:00am.  Half Marathon will start busing at 5:00am-5:30am. 10k busing will start at 6:30am with last bus leaving at 7:00am.

All participants will be transported to Estes Park via the buses provided. Buses and shuttle vans will bring half marathon finishers to the post race celebration in Loveland, Colorado.

Return transportation from the Finish back to event parking at Keysight Technologies will be provided from 9am – 12pm.

Shuttle van available from Finish to Estes Park, $10 cost, limited seating. Please email lovelandmarathon@gmail.com by September 10th to reserve a seat. Departs at 12PM sharp.

Finish Line Celebration

Refreshments will be provided at the finish line celebration area adjacent to Backbone Brewhouse/Restaurant. Festivities will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until 12:00 PM. Awards at 11:00 AM at the Patio area Backbone Brewhouse!! Live music provided by the famous local Scottish/Irish band “The Commoners”!! Lead singer and former winner of Colorado Marathon-Derek “Mouse” Frodhl.

Bag Retrieval

Gear bags will be transported from Estes Park and Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch to each Finish area.
